Staff Picks

Hand-selected by the people behind the counter.

Staff Pick · Amara

Kind of Blue

Miles Davis

“The record that taught America how to listen. Every note floats like it knows exactly where it's going but doesn't mind taking the scenic route. We've sold more copies of this than anything else in the shop — and every single one goes home with a convert.”

Zombie

Fela Kuti

“Fela took on the Nigerian military with nothing but a saxophone and 20 minutes of relentless groove. This is what political music sounds like when it refuses to whisper. Play it loud and feel the walls shake.”

Staff Pick · Mara

A Seat at the Table

Solange

“Solange built an entire world inside this record — warmth, anger, exhaustion, joy, all coexisting. Every interlude earns its place. This is what self-determination sounds like in real time.”

Listening sessions, live sets, and crate digs.

Listening Session Every 1st Sunday

Jazz Sunday

3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Three hours of deep listening. We pick a genre, an era, or a single artist and play it loud on the shop system. No phones, no talking during the music — just sit with it. This month: the Blue Note catalog, 1956–1967.

Crate Dig Every 2nd Saturday

Crate Diggers Anonymous

12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Free-form crate digging with a twist. Each month, a staff member fills a section with blind bags — sealed records you can only judge by the genre tag and price. Take a risk, find a gem, or at least a story to tell.

More than a record shop

We believe music deserves to be held, examined, and played loud. The Vinyl Crate is where discovery lives — no algorithms, no playlists, just crates of vinyl and people who care.
